Pain in the vagina is a fairly common problem among young women 20-30 years old. And quite often they first encounter her when regular intimate relationships begin. Such complaints are often addressed to us by those whose family experience is not even a year.
In most cases, such discomfort is temporary. When the female body adapts to a new way of life for itself, it will cease to respond so subtly to relationships natural for the spouses. On average, this period lasts no more than six months, but in each case, the “timing” is different. All individually. But while you and your daughter have nothing to worry about.
If after 6-9 months after the wedding with regular sexual relations the discomfort persists, then a doctor’s consultation is really necessary.
Is herpes to blame?
Prolonged discomfort in the external genital area requires a thorough examination. And it is advisable not to put off going to the doctor in the long box. As it usually happens with us, it’s not quite bad yet, I will tolerate a little more, maybe it will pass by itself. Unfortunately, this attitude usually leads to even more serious problems. “Itself” not only does not pass, but also worsens more.
The fact is that infections are often the cause of such troubles. For example, bacterial vaginosis, candidiasis, trichomoniasis, genital herpes, papillomavirus infection. Therefore, the first thing to do is pass the following tests. One of the most important is PCR diagnostics. This is a kind of starting point for subsequent actions – whether or not there are certain pathogens. It is also necessary to pass tests for fungi of the genus Candida and evaluate the pH level. If the doctor detects any external mucosal disorders – polyps or sores, he will prescribe additional examinations. You may need to do colposcopy – to check the condition of the mucosa under a microscope. And in controversial cases, also conduct a biopsy – a laboratory study of cells. For this, a small piece of tissue from a problem area is taken under local anesthesia.
Next, treatment is prescribed, usually conservative. The duration and regimen of drugs depends on the results of analyzes. After completion of the course of therapy, control studies are necessary in order to assess the success of treatment.
The cause of intimate discomfort may be diseases that are not related to gynecology. Quite often, such complaints can be heard from women with systemic lupus erythematosus, ankylosing spondylitis, allergic dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis. In this case, it is necessary to tell the gynecologist about his ailment and together with him to find “ways” to alleviate his condition.
Quite often, various cosmetics are the cause of discomfort, especially in young women. Young creatures with great pleasure experience the latest in cosmetology. However, this is far from always beneficial. To understand what’s quite simple is enough – it’s enough just to temporarily stop using one or another means.
It is not always possible to find out the cause of the ailment. It also happens that everything “new” is eliminated, analyzes are within normal limits, and discomfort, meanwhile, does not go away. This is not often, but still happens.
Many people blame doctors in such situations, saying that they do not know and do not understand anything. And then they begin to look for other, more “intelligent” specialists. To understand such ladies, of course, is possible. But, as a rule, these “good” doctors also later turn out to be “unprofessional”.
The problem is that so far we do not fully understand the causes of hypersensitivity. Some scholars suggest that this may manifest individual characteristics of the body. And the point here is not in infections and viruses, but in certain disorders of the nervous system. For example, most women with similar complaints show signs of anxiety and even depression.
That is why psychotherapy and antidepressants help these patients well. Other methods are also used, such as percutaneous electroneuro stimulation, local applications of hormonal preparations, and laser therapy in a pulse mode. But it must be borne in mind that this treatment process is not quick, and most likely the problem may return again after some time.
Soap Plus Cotton
In addition to the main treatment for “intimate” discomfort, certain hygiene recommendations should be followed. They are quite simple, but at the same time they help to significantly reduce discomfort. Under one condition – if you perform them regularly.
Wash 2-3 times a day and wipe dry with a non-rigid towel. Be sure to rinse your genitals with water after each visit to the toilet. Now there are even special sanitary napkins on sale that you should always carry with you. They are suitable for situations where there is no water nearby. During shower use soft grades of soap or special means for intimate hygiene. It is advisable to completely abandon long hot baths.
There are special requirements for clothes. If possible, give preference to free models of linen made from natural fabrics – cotton or viscose. When washing, it is advisable to use “gentle” means – for these purposes, “baby” powders, rinses and soap are well suited. They contain a minimum of chemicals, therefore, as a rule, do not cause irritation. Do not wear too tight and tight clothing so as not to injure the skin. Also closely monitor what you wear for playing sports. Try to choose free and natural models.
Be careful during the “critical days”. Try not to abuse tampons, it is better to use 100% cotton pads. And, of course, visit the shower room more often.
